France > Aquitaine > Lot-et-Garonne > Monflanquin > Le Laussou
Bégou is situated in an area of many beautiful mediaeval Bastide towns, where you can stroll around or eat in one of the plentiful restaurants. From Monflanquin you can see for miles, while Villeréal is a 'real' French country town. With careful planning you can visit a different market every day of the week. There are also excellent evening farmer's markets where you can try the food before buying, or sit around at tables eating what you have just bought!
The superb Chateau Biron can be seen from the gardens of the house and is well worth a visit.
Vinyards abound, covering almost any type of wine you can imagine. From the reds of Bordeau & St Emilion in the north of the region, via the sweet whites of Monbaziallac, not forgetting those from Bergerac, Pecharmont, Buzet and many others. Try before you buy, and enjoy.
The beautiful countryside surrounding the house is wonderful for walking, biking, horse-riding, even quad-biking. There is a superb golf course only 20 minutes drive away, and the rivers Lot and Dordogne are nearby, where you can canoe, fish, swim or take boat trips. |
