Greece > Mainland > Athens > City Center
This stunning self-catering vacation rental is located in the heart of central Athens, Greece. Athens, the birthplace of democracy and some of the greatest thinkers of all time: walk in the footsteps of Socrates and Pericles, as you ascend the Acropolis to marvel at the Parthenon. Visit the Ancient Agora below and wander through the maze of streets in old Athens, the Plaka. Barter a bit in Monasteraki Flea Market and dine al fresco on souvlaki and tomato-cucumber salads (Greece does grow some of the finest tasting tomatoes in the world!). Refueled, head in one direction towards the ancient, little visited, but fine Keramikos Cemetary and museum, or in another to visit the Athens Central market. Head back to Syntagma Square to watch the changing of the guard, and meander through the National Gardens, where Athenians of all ages spend time. Stop for a frappe at the Zappion, and cross back towards your luxury duplex penthouse, passing the Marble Stadium, site of the first modern Olympics. Close your eyes and imagine the crowds cheering as the first of the marathon runners enters the stadium (or just watch footage of the 2004 Olympics to see a truly modern day version!) Soon you will be back in your home in Athens, to relax on the veranda and marvel at the view of Mt Lykavittos - with the lily white church of St George perched on top. Or head to the rooftop terrace and watch the sun set over the Parthenon. Perhaps you'll want to use our provided computer or your own laptop to connect with home, friends and family - or give them a call, we offer free international long distance phone calls to the US, Canada and some EU countries!
Take a siesta, and head out to one of the two happening Athenian neighborhoods just steps away: Head towards the Hilton, into Kolonaki, where the see and be seen crowd dawdle for hours over a frappe or a freddo. Or join the younger crowd on Immittou in Pagrati, where you can nurse your cappuccino while nibbling on one of the various sweets served alongside. If its summer and its hot, join the families "voltaing" along Immittou, stop at Dodoni for an ice cream cone (before dinner, the Athenian way).
Grab a table at a neighborhood mezedopoleio, and nibble your way through the evening sipping ouzo or retsina. No need to rush, this is Greece... Unless of course you are ready for rembetika (Greek blues). Head downstairs into one of Pagrati's music venues for live Greek blues, or upstairs for a nightcap at a rooftop table.

Built in 2003 this luxurious is perfect for your short stop in Athens or a longer sojourn. Light, bright and airy, this contemporary furnished 3 bedroom duplex (or 2 bedrooms and an office) with 2 full baths features a large veranda off the kitchen and open living room where you can enjoy your morning coffee away from the noise of the city. Both of the second floor bedrooms open to another veranda where you can enjoy the sun and warmth of Greece, curl up with a book. Enjoy an ouzo on the roof terrace, overlooking the Acropolis, Lykavittos, the mountains and the sea.
A fully operational, gourmet kitchen with granite counters, dishwasher, stainless appliances and a floating island offer the chance to prepare a meal of the freshest finds from one of two nearby weekly farmers markets, or perhaps a purchase from the Central Market that you just had to buy and can't take home. Dine al fresco on the veranda, or under the stars on the roof terrace.
Just returning from a visit to the islands? Wash away the sea salt from your clothes in the full size washing machine and dryer. No car is needed to explore Athens, but if you have brought one, indoor parking is available. Spend the day sightseeing and retreat to your own personal haven, a home away from home, to rest and recharge before enjoying Athens by night.
If your group is larger, ask about our adjacent twin penthouse! We can accommodate groups of up to 12. |
